Andre Harris, 28, was taken into custody by Davidson County police on Wednesday. Officers charged him with attempted criminal homicide in connection with a shooting reported on October 16.

Witnesses at the scene on Plus Park Boulevard told responding officers that two individuals exchanged gunfire that day. An affidavit filed by detectives noted that investigators found a trail of blood and multiple spent shell casings in the area. Camera footage from a nearby building captured Harris walking away from the victim before turning back and closing the distance while firing his weapon.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Harris was already wanted by the court. He had failed to appear for multiple prior charges, which included possessing controlled substances with intent, felon in possession with a handgun, theft of a firearm, and evading arrest.

Upon his arrest on Wednesday, Harris admitted to investigators that he shot a person with whom he was feuding. The affidavit records his statement that he did not recall the victim firing their gun during the incident. Harris told detectives that his decision to shoot was of his own volition with the specific intent to kill the victim.

The shooting occurred in the early part of October. Harris is currently in police custody on the new attempted criminal homicide charge.
