Metro Nashville Police charged Kevin Garcia Soto with criminal homicide on Tuesday. Court records dated October 28 show the 20-year-old man was booked into jail. His bond is set at $150,000.
Garcia Soto is accused of shooting Yasser Paz in 2024. Paz was 18 when he was killed outside Bucanas Night Club. Police say Garcia Soto and several men exited a vehicle and opened fire on a group of people. The shooting killed Paz and seriously injured another victim.
Detectives spent months working the case. They reviewed surveillance footage and spoke with witnesses. The team also collected physical evidence and analyzed cell phone data to build their case.
Garcia Soto is the second person arrested in connection with the incident. In May, police charged Edgar Garcia Soto. He was 17 when the shooting occurred. He faces multiple juvenile charges, including homicide and three counts of attempted homicide.
The two defendants share the same last name but are distinct individuals. Garcia Soto now faces one count of criminal homicide and one count of attempted criminal homicide. The next court date has been scheduled.
