Metro Nashville Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Jefferson Street at 28th Avenue on the night of Nov. 1. Four teenagers were taken to the hospital after a burst of gunfire near the House of Legends. The 911 call log for that night shows 26 calls were placed before and after the incident.

A mother called dispatchers at 12:08 a.m. to report an unauthorized party at the intersection. She told the operator that she had picked up her daughter from the event and that the situation had worsened since an officer previously visited. The caller described seeing about 200 unsupervised minors in the street. She noted that cars were driving up and down the road with passengers hanging out the windows and that a person was riding a dirt bike on one wheel.

The caller specifically identified firearms. She stated that people were walking on foot while physically displaying guns. The dispatcher confirmed the caller meant firearms. The caller said she was trying to prevent a situation from becoming worse. The location was identified as 2622 Jefferson Street. A second call arrived nearly 20 minutes later confirming loud music and underage drinking.

Calls reporting gunfire began three minutes after that second call. A caller logged at 12:24 a.m. reported an automatic weapon firing in front of a club. Another caller at 12:27 a.m. reported shots near the Marathon gas station. One caller estimated hearing 30 gunshots. That caller pulled off the road and got low to the ground to avoid being hit.

Callers soon requested immediate medical help. One person reported a girl with a gunshot wound to the head. Bystanders were pressing on the wound to control bleeding. Another caller reported a friend shot above the hip and in the left arm. That caller estimated the victim was between 14 and 16 years old. CPR was performed on the girl with the head injury while waiting for an ambulance.

The property owner stated he was unaware the party was taking place. Metro Nashville Police noted that an earlier call at 9:45 p.m. had requested no contact with police. Two North Precinct officers had driven by and seen people inside the parking lot enclosure. The four teens remain hospitalized. The girl shot in the head is in critical condition. Police have not made an arrest or named a suspect. There is no word on whether charges will be filed against the party organizers.
