Nashville DJ and producer Greg Freeman is releasing a new record called Greg Again. The project marks the 20th year of his performance career under the name Quiet Entertainer. The album features remixes of his best instrumental songs. Freeman updated the production and arrangements for the new release.

Freeman began his musical journey in the early 2000s. He started creating hip-hop and dance music in Nashville. His work often fell outside the boundaries of local underground scenes. He built a large repertoire by probing the edges of his creativity. This approach sometimes came at the expense of traditional popularity.

In 2009, Freeman first appeared in Nashville media coverage. The article focused on the nascent hip-hop scene at Cafe Coco. At that time, hip-hop and electronic music were barely visible in Middle Tennessee. The local music landscape has changed since then. Both the city and its performers now support deeper, more complex sounds.

Freeman stated that the new album allows him to rejoin his earlier works. He aimed to improve the production quality and create nicer arrangements. He wanted to equip himself to play better sets. He also sought to get back into creating music rather than just performing gigs.

The producer noted that his early tracks were designed for rappers. He explained that some of those songs were too weird or elaborate for that purpose. They contained many samples or complex structures. Despite these challenges, he considers them cool tracks. He is still building an entire artistic vision around his work.

Freeman said he is trying to relaunch the Quiet Entertainer concept. He wants to drive home the idea that he is still active. He believes he has a lot of expression left in the project. It remains his primary creative outlet.

His music has always been left of center. He crafts strange arrangements and builds a live band. This band explores musical regions beyond standard Nashville norms. Freeman described his challenge as getting people to care about his specific type of music. He feels he is closer to that goal than he ever thought.

He said he likes to try new things and feel good about the effort. Whether or not he realizes new capabilities, he values the attempt. Freeman stated he has many years of ideas to execute. He said this is not his final form and he still has a lot to do.
