Florida men arrested after cross-state chase

Two men from Florida were arrested on Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit that began in Livingston, Tennessee, and ended in Clinton County, Kentucky. The incident resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms and a large quantity of suspected narcotics, according to the Pickett County Sheriff's Office. No injuries were reported in the crash.

The sequence of events started when Livingston police officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a window tint violation. The driver did not pull over and instead accelerated away. Officers followed the suspect vehicle along Byrdstown Highway into Pickett County territory.

Pickett County Sheriff's Office deputies and the Tennessee Highway Patrol joined the pursuit as it progressed. The Tennessee Highway Patrol attempted to halt the vehicle on the northern side of the Wolf River bridge using spike strips, but the vehicle continued moving. The chase then crossed the state line into Kentucky, where deputies from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office became involved in the response.

The pursuit concluded after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The suspect car crashed into a Pickett County deputy patrol car, ending the high-speed chase. The two individuals in the vehicle were identified as Christian Messick and Michaelan Robinson, both residents of Florida.

During the chase, a large quantity of suspected narcotics and several firearms were thrown from the moving vehicle. Officers from the Livingston Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol later collected these items. The evidence was transported to the Pickett County Sheriff's Office for processing and collection.

Pickett County authorities initially detained the two men. They were subsequently turned over to Clinton County, Kentucky, officials for formal arrest. The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
