BELLEVUE, Tenn. The Bellevue West apartment complex has been without power since Tuesday, leaving residents in the dark with no explanation from management.

Constance Minis, a resident, described the situation as a safety hazard. She said she returned home from work on Tuesday evening to find the property completely darkened. Minis noted that she is responsible for a nine-year-old child and described the lack of lighting as scary and dangerous.

Minis said she received an email stating the leasing office was closed. She added that management has not provided a reason for the outage or a timeline for when the lights will be restored.

The Davidson County Herald contacted the complex by email and phone on Friday. A phone call to the main line connected immediately to a voicemail message stating the complex was unavailable to take calls. The leasing office was also locked, with its lights off and a sign on the door confirming the closure.

Nashville Electric Service, the utility provider, was asked to confirm whether it had cut service to parts of the complex or if an unpaid bill caused the issue. NES initially responded on Friday morning that it was reviewing the request. Later that afternoon, the utility said a majority of its staff was participating in a training exercise, which delayed the delivery of the information.

Residents continue to wait for a statement from property management. The complex remains dark as of Friday evening, with no scheduled time announced for the restoration of power.
