Nashville experimental pop duo Total Wife will perform at Drkmttr on Friday at 8 p.m. The venue is located at 1111 Dickerson Pike.
Composer-guitarist Luna Kupper and vocalist Ash Richter will be joined on stage by guitarist Ryan Bigelow, bassist Will Shepherd, and drummer Sean Booz. Richter stated the group will play mostly new, unreleased material alongside tracks from their 2025 album, Come Back Down.
Kupper explained that the band prioritizes melody as a vehicle for their more experimental sounds. “Melody is so important to us because it’s the way to reach people with the more experimental stuff,” Kupper said.
The duo recently released a remix EP titled come.back.down.x.recovery. The project features reimaginings of songs from Come Back Down by Winter, Full Body 2, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, and Scott Cortez. Come Back Down is the band’s third studio album, following 2022’s A Blip and 2023’s In/Out.
Sour Tooth will open the show, and Kansas-based shoegaze trio Flooding will close the night. The lineup positions Total Wife as the middle set on the bill.
Tickets are available for the 8 p.m. start time at the Dickerson Pike location.
