Davidson County election officials confirmed on Monday that the county has received no complaints regarding ballot marking machines since earlier reports of technical issues emerged.

More than 100,000 residents have cast early ballots in Davidson County. The county stated that the number of complaints about the voting equipment has dropped to zero since the initial reports. This update comes one week before Election Day.

Earlier this month, voters described problems where the machines did not reflect their choices. One voter explained, “You try to push the button for the candidate that you’re selecting, and it goes to another candidate.” Another resident noted that when they pushed the button, a different name would illuminate on the screen.

In response to the initial concerns, Davidson County allowed the return of coffee stirrers to polling locations. Officials said this change was made to improve the voter experience. The election commission stated that it will treat federal observers the same way it treats other third-party groups, such as Organize Tennessee.

The Department of Justice is deploying 1,000 poll observers across all 50 states. These federal employees will monitor voting operations from now until Election Day. The Secretary of State’s office has not yet responded to questions about where these specific observers will be stationed in the state.

Clive Griffiths, a representative for the nonprofit Election Truth Alliance, advised voters to verify their selections. “Read it carefully, make sure it’s accurate,” Griffiths said. The organization has received reports of ballot marking issues from voters in Tennessee, Texas, Kansas, and South Carolina.

Voters previously expressed frustration about the potential for errors. One resident said the malfunction caused nervousness about whether their vote would be counted correctly. The Election Truth Alliance maintains a webpage where citizens can report voting problems for this election cycle.
